PET Bottles chip

S1: Gather Recycled Materials
We source recycled waste from around the world, including recycled bottles and post-industrial waste, which may include our own waste.

S2: Cleaning and Flaking
The waste material undergoes a process that involves chopping, grinding, washing, and transforming it into flakes to eliminate contaminants.

S3. Resin Production
The waste flake is melted and reprocessed into high-quality resin.

S4. Fiber Formation
Resin is melted into liquid polymer and extruded to form fiber. From there, it is spun and air-jet textured into yarn.

Recycle

Atacz strongly believes that education and changing our consumption habits are essential for promoting sustainability. We have achieved global success in reducing the use of PET bottles. To understand the recycling process of PET bottles and how they can be turned into fabric for our products, it is important to know how these bottles are recycled!

Recycled fibers, unlike natural fibers like cotton and silk, are synthetic materials that fall into the same category as polyester, nylon, and spandex. These materials are derived from fossil fuels and are not sustainable. Yet, they offer advantages such as flexibility, versatility, and weather resistance, making them preferable to natural materials for many applications. When PET bottles are recycled, they are first collected, washed, and broken down into small flakes. These flakes are then melted and spun into synthetic threads, which can be woven into synthetic fabric.

The process of manufacturing recycled PET bottles gives them a new lease of life that lasts much longer than if they were left in landfills, where they do not biodegrade. This not only helps to reduce waste disposal but also allows us to make better use of land resources. Atacz plays an active role in creating a positive impact on society and strives to be a leading example of an environmentally responsible business in the apparel and accessories industry.

Upcycling

In addition to recycling PET bottles, Atacz actively practices upcycling by transforming and repurposing these bottles into usable materials for our design bags and accessories. This approach aligns with our commitment to sustainability and our responsibility towards the environment.

We take pride in designing bags that maximize the use of repurposed PET bottles. For every commercial order, a completed bag signifies the repurposing of the equivalent of 2 PET bottles. As of now, we've repurposed nearly 8,000 PET bottles!

Upcycling not only benefits the environment but also fosters growth and innovation within our company. We continuously seek opportunities to showcase our creative designs while maintaining our upcycling efforts. This allows us to offer fashionable products and accessories that are both durable and stylish without causing harm to the environment. Our upcycling initiatives help promote conscious shopping habits by reducing the frequency of resource overconsumption. By choosing upcycled Atacz products, you can contribute to a more sustainable and responsible approach to consumption!

Zero Waste Design

Zero Waste design is a concept that involves proactive efforts to minimize waste production and maximize waste recovery. Atacz believes that the success of their brand relies on responsible design, consumption, reuse, and production practices. We also prioritize the use of packaging materials that are environmentally friendly and do not harm the land and ecosystems.

PET bottles, for example, take an average of 1,000 years to decompose. During this process, harmful chemicals can be released, contaminating the soil and water sources and posing risks to both humans and wildlife. Packaging plays a significant role in commercial products that are widely consumed. In line with Atacz's commitment to sustainability and environmental benefits, they have chosen to use self-adhesive tape in all of their packaging.

The self-adhesive paper packing tape utilized by Atacz is crafted from FSC-certified kraft paper, which is produced using the chemical pulp of the kraft process. This type of tape combines the adhesive properties of natural rubber with the biodegradable qualities of kraft paper. As a result, the packing tapes used for Atacz's bags and accessories are both biodegradable and environmentally friendly. They provide effective protection for the products while minimizing their impact on the environment.
